My LX200 Modifications
Current Modifications
Below is a list of all the projects/modificaions I've preformed to my LX200 setup. Feel free to do any of these yourself, but PLEASE NOTE: Some of the modifications WILL void your warranty!
To-Do list:
- Rebuild of the Meade Superwedge
- Make a new Dew Heater to permenently mount to scope (Already started)
Neo's Knobs (Collimation Knobs)

Ok, I admit it... I'm cheap! Rather than buying Bob's Knobs, I decided to make my own!
With my model of LX200, I can completely remove the secondary holder without removing the corrector. You'll have to check your model and see if you can follow what I did, or do something different. Once removed, I removed ONE screw to take with me to the hardware store. (Sorry, I forgot the size!)

With replacement screws in hand, I found some scrap pieces of materials I had around the house that would make a nice knob. What I found was a set of Servo Arms for an RC Car. PERFECT fit! A little J-B Weld and I have a nice tool-less knob.

Well, almost a perfect fit. I had to SLIGHTLY bend them to clear the lip on the secondary holder.

Replaceing ONE screw at a time, heres what you'll end up with.

And heres the completed project. Not bad for only $0.30 and some scrap parts I had laying around.
What makes these nice (besides not needing a tool to turn them) is the arms act almost like the hands of a clock, so I know just how far I'm turning them!
