My LX200 Modifications

Current Modifications

Below is a list of all the projects/modificaions I've preformed to my LX200 setup. Feel free to do any of these yourself, but PLEASE NOTE: Some of the modifications WILL void your warranty!

  • Make a new Dew Heater to permenently mount to scope (Already started)

I'm not going to reproduce the instructions here, but rather provide you with the link to the site I used to make mine. Detailed instructions can be found at the A.S.I.G.N. Observatory website.

The only differences are that I did not use board as he did, but rather I used black Foam-Core display board from my local office supply store. I also used sticky-back felt around the inside hole (secondary hole) that serves 2 functions. First is that it blocks any stray light from around the secondary. Second, it adds a friction fit around the secondary, to help hold the mask in place. I also added 3 felt "Tabs" to allow easy removal without sticking my fingers through the triangle openings and touching my corrector plate!

It also conveinetly fits inside the lid of my accessory case.
