80/20 Counterweight Bar

I wanted a counterweight bar for my scope, but didn't like the thin, lightweight bars available through ScopeStuff. They looked to me like they could have some flexture. So after searching the internet for another "T-Slot" extrusion, I came across what is known as the "Industrial Erector Set". The company is 80/20, and they make some really nice stuff!

So I ordered my extrusion, as well as some of their T-Nuts.

  • 8 foot of 80/20 stock: $24.00 ($5.00 *)(* Good for at least 5 pieces!)
  • T-Nuts @ .15 each: $0.15 (Ordered a dozen)
  • 5/16-18 Threaded rod: $2.00
  • 5/15 insert "T"-handle: $3.00
  • 5/16 insert "Knobs" (2): $6.00
  • Washers (On hand): 0.00

Grand total for this project, not counting the weights themselves (which I still need to get) is just over $16.00! Can't beat that!
